Everyone from the UK is familiar with BBC iplayer which allows us to watch live UK tv and catchup TV at any time of day or, night. We can watch the programmes that we want to watch, when we want to watch them!

British people with holiday homes abroad and Britsh expats living abroad will all, at some time or another, have tried to log on to the BBC's web site, hoping to watch the latest episode of their favourite programme. Unfortunately, viewing is blocked from outside the UK or, is it?

The BBC is obliged to restrict viewing of its content to people with computers that are located in the UK. They do this by checking the IP address of any device that tries to access their content and they only allow computers with UK IP addresses to gain access.

We have set up a series of vpn - virtual private network servers in the UK. They are all connected to the internet in the UK and they all have UK IP addresses that allow unrestricted access to BBC iPlayer, ITV.com, Ch4 and Ch5 TV.

If you are temporarily or, permanently living abroad, your foreign internet service provider is allocating your computer a foreign IP address which is registered outside the UK and so, you will not be able to access any of the programmes on any of the sites mentioned above, but just to be sure, why not give it a try:-
